    88To demonstrate their new technologies, the team is using [wiki:HardwareUsersGuides WARP hardware] and the [wiki:OFDMReferenceDesign WARP reference designs] which are loosely based on 802.11 standards.  The key research focus is on adapting the MAC protocol to handle longer distances and improving PHY performance to work at larger distances. The team (see photo) consists of a cross-disciplinary team which has expertise in hardware, networking protocols, PHY layer designs and radio propagation.
