Xilinx XPS Error when generating bitstream

Hi,
This is Kiruba from UT Dallas. I am facing an unknown error when generating bitStream using Xilinx XPS 14.6. The software just displays

********************************************************************************
At Local date and time: Sat Apr 21 15:23:28 2018
make -f system.make bits started...
"****************************************************"
"Creating system netlist for hardware specification.."
"****************************************************"
platgen -p xc6vlx240tff1156-2 -lang vhdl -intstyle default  -lp C:/WARP_repository/edk_user_repository  -msg __xps/ise/xmsgprops.lst system.mhs
make: *** [implementation/system.bmm] Error -1073740791
Done!

I tried looking up the error online and there is no post related to this. Also the logfile doesn't contain any new information other than the one mentioned above. I have generated bitstreams in the past. This is the first time I am facing this issue. Can someone help me resolve this?

Appreciate your time!

Re: Xilinx XPS Error when generating bitstream

We've never seen this error. Searching for "Error 1073740791" turns up lots of non-Xilinx, Windows-specific error messages. Is anything different on your PC? Hard disk full? Or corrupted? Is the XPS project in a folder with a long path or path with spaces in its name?

using Xilinx XPS 14.6.

We only use ISE/XPS 14.4 for WARP v3 designs. There are definitely bugs in SDK 14.5-7; I've never tried XPS >14.4.

Re: Xilinx XPS Error when generating bitstream

Hi Patrick,
Thank you for your reply. It turned out to be an issue with my Xilinx installation. I am able to generate the bitstream on the same version (14.6) installed on another PC.

Regards,
Kiruba
