Transmission power of WARP board

Hello,

I have a question about the transmission power of the WARP board. Is it ok for me to set the WARP board to the highest transmission power (21) every time I use the board to transmit the packet, will it damage the WARP board?

Best wishes,
Yan

Re: Transmission power of WARP board

Transmitting a packet a max power will not damage the board as long as the RF interface as a 50-ohm load. The primary concern is temperature - if your board is in an enclosure you will need to consider temperature of the RF circuits. We've had no issues running WARP v3 boards in high-duty-cycle Tx experiments on a lab bench; we have no experience doing the same with enclosures or restricted air flow.
