problem about sd cards

hi,

I think there is something wrong with my SD card and I want to reconfigure an SD card.

I read the description of https://warpproject.org/trac/wiki/howto … fig.before set the startup clock, how do I create a new ISE project?

and is w3_sd_newCard.bin.zip the configuration file of the SD card finally imported?

thanks.

Re: problem about sd cards

w3_sd_newCard.bin is the configuration file on the SD cards we shipped with new WARP v3 kits. This design only prints a message to the UART - it does not implement any wireless functionality.

We provide .bin files for the WARPLab Reference Design and 802.11 Reference Design. You can choose one of these files and write it to your SD card following the directions at the link you posted.

Re: problem about sd cards

I read the original SD cards,is .trashes a valid configuration file ?

thanks.

In the archives for these reference designs- see the download pages.

No, .trashes is not a valid configuration file. Configuration files are written as raw bytes to the SD card and will not appear in the filesystem when the SD card is mounted on a PC.

Re: problem about sd cards

I wrote the w3_sd_newCard.bin to the SD card according to the directions at the link https://warpproject.org/trac/wiki/howto … ig/Windows ,both SD cards select slot 0,and DD report the following

Code:

18032+1 records in
18032+1 records out

But after power-up, there is no expected 01 or 02 on the hex displays,Could you tell me what's wrong?

And what are the requirements for the choice of slot, can it be the same?

Re: problem about sd cards

Are you using the SD cards that shipped with the WARP v3 kits? The W3 hardware only supports cards <=2GB (standard SD cards, not newer SDHC/SDXC cards).

In this context "slot 0" refers to the byte address of the FPGA configuration file on the SD card. The W3 hardware can address 8 slots on the SD card, selected by the DIP switch at SW2 (see FPGA Config in the user guide). By default that DIP switch is set to all zeros (as in the photo at that URL) which selects slot 0 on the SD card (FPGA config image starting at byte address 131072). I would recommend using only slot 0 for all your cards/nodes.

Re: problem about sd cards

yep,I repurchased the Transcend TS2GSDC,meet the requirements of SD cards.And I set position 1 of DIP SW SW2 to 0,set positions 2, 3, 4 of DIP SW2 to 0 to selects slot 0 .

After I configured the SD card, the SD card still had 1.84g of unused space, although dd produced the correct results, does that mean I didn't configure it successfully?

Re: problem about sd cards

I'm not sure what else to suggest. The wiki documents the process we have used for years to configure the W3 hardware from an SD card. You'll have to debug further, perhaps trying a different PC, different SD cards, re-confirming you're following the documented process.
