= WARP Workshop at Rice University - March 29-30, 2010 = The tenth WARP workshop will be held at Rice University on March 29-30, 2010. == Overview == The WARP Workshop is designed to introduce researchers to the tools and design flows used to build custom wireless networking designs on WARP. The materials cover the basics of the WARP hardware and introduce the platform's physical and MAC layer design flows. The workshop is composed of both technical presentations, delivered by the Rice students and staff working on WARP, and hands-on lab exercises using the WARP hardware and design flows. The content and organization will be similar to our previous workshops, the materials for which are available [wiki:Workshops here]. == Workshop Materials == === Slides === Day 1:BR * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARP_WorkshopSlides_0_Overview.pdf?format=raw Introduction] (37KB PDF) * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARP_WorkshopSlides_1_WARPLab.pdf?format=raw WARPLab] by Melissa Duarte (6.3MB PDF) * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARP_WorkshopSlides_2_Hardware.pdf?format=raw Hardware & XPS] by Sid Gupta (2.7MB PDF) * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARP_WorkshopSlides_3_PHY.pdf?format=raw PHY Design] by Patrick Murphy (2.2MB PDF) Day 2:BR * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARP_WorkshopSlides_4_MAC.pdf?format=raw MAC Design] by Chris Hunter (1.7MB PDF) * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARP_WorkshopSlides_5_CaseStudy.pdf?format=raw Advanced MAC/PHY Design - A Case Study] by Chris Hunter (1.5MB PDF) === Lab Exercise Handouts === Day 1:BR * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARPWorkshop_Lab1_WARPLab.pdf?format=raw Lab 1: Introduction to WARPLab] (0.1MB PDF) * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARPWorkshop_Lab2_XPS_Intro.pdf?format=raw Lab 2: Introduction to WARP Hardware & XPS] (0.5MB PDF) * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARPWorkshop_Lab3_RadioIntro.pdf?format=raw Lab 3: Building a Simple Transceiver] (0.5MB PDF) Day 2:BR * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARPWorkshop_Lab4_noMac.pdf?format=raw Lab 4: NoMAC] (0.1MB PDF) * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARPWorkshop_Lab5_halfMac_sw.pdf?format=raw Lab 5: HalfMAC - Software] (0.1MB PDF) * [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARPWorkshop_Lab6_halfMac_hw.pdf?format=raw Lab 6: HalfMAC - Hardware] (0.1MB PDF) === Lab Exercise Source Files === * Lab 1: [source:/ResearchApps/PHY/WARPLAB/WARPLab_v05_2/WorkshopExercises WARPLab Exercise M-files] (from svn) * Lab 2: [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARPWorkshop_Lab2_XPS.zip WARP Hardware & XPS Intro source project] (1.2 MB .zip) * Lab 3: [attachment:wiki:Workshops/Rice_2010March/Files:WARPWorkshop_Lab3_TxRx.zip Simple Transceiver source models & project] (1.3 MB .zip) * Labs 4-6: OFDM Reference Design & MAC exercises (7MB .zip) == Instructors == Melissa Duarte, Sid Gupta, Patrick Murphy and Chris Hunter === Other Useful Resources === * [wiki:WARPLab] * [wiki:OFDMReferenceDesign OFDM Reference Design] * [wiki:HardwareUsersGuides/FPGABoard_v1.2 FPGA Board Users Guide] * [wiki:HardwareUsersGuides/RadioBoard_v1.4 Radio Board Users Guide] * WARP APIs * Radio Controller * [wiki:HardwareUsersGuides/RadioBoard_v1.4/RadioController Overview] * [source:/PlatformSupport/CustomPeripherals/drivers/radio_controller_v1_22_a/src Software Source] * [source:/PlatformSupport/CustomPeripherals/pcores/radio_controller_v1_22_a/hdl Hardware Source] * [source:/ResearchApps/PHY/MIMO_OFDM WARP OFDM Transceiver] * [source:/PlatformSupport/WARPMAC WARPMAC Source] * [source:/ResearchApps/MAC MAC Implementations] * Xilinx University Program
