3 Xilinx Platform Studio supports custom hardware platforms through XBD files. An XBD file describes the FPGA, peripherals, timing and pin constraints for a custom board. This file must be installed along with XPS in order to build applications for the WARP FPGA board.
3The Xilinx Embedded Development Kit uses Xilinx Board Description (XBD) files to describe the hardware and peripheral resources provided by custom FPGA systems. These XBD files must be installed in the EDK's search path. The recommended installation location is in the [wiki:edk_user_repository EDK user repository]:
    44
5  1. Download the latest version of the XBD from our repository: [source:"/PlatformSupport/xbd/@latest" WARP XBD File].
6  1. Copy the XBD file to your local XPS installation. On most systems, the proper path is: {{{C:\EDK\board\Rice University\boards\}}}. Read the [source:"/PlatformSupport/xbd/XBD Installation Readme.txt@latest" XBD Installation Readme] for more details.
7  1. Open XPS and create a new project using Base System Builder.
8  1. The WARP FPGA board should now be an option when selecting the target hardware platform.
