Rssi

Hi, I am quite new in here. I would like to kindly ask about RSSI measurements.
- Is it possible to tune the sampling frequency of the rssi? If not, which is the sampling frequency?
- If I want to estimate the received power, is it possible to do it with rssi information?

Thanks beforehand.
Best Regards,
Gabriele Galiero

Re: Rssi

RSSI is sampled at 10 MHz.  In WARPLab, this is 1/4 the sampling frequency.  You can see how to deal with the difference between the IQ sampling frequency and the RSSI sampling frequency in the basic WARPLab example.

With the Rx gains and the RSSI, you can compute the received power.  You can see a good discussion about how to interpret RSSI here, here and here.

Given that you are new, I would suggest that you read thru and understand the WARPLab examples starting with the basic example mentioned above.  Also, if you plan to move beyond the reference bitstream (i.e. modifying FPGA code / hardware), I would suggest that you complete the Xilinx tool tutorials.
