FFT Shift and SIGNAL field decoding?

Hi,

Just wondering; do you perform FFT shift in the PMD system generator receiver model?
Also, do you decode the SIGNAL field in order to determine the end of the packet?

many thanks

Re: FFT Shift and SIGNAL field decoding?

The Tx and Rx subsystems operate on subcarriers in the order the enter/leave the FFT core. For the Tx IFFT and Rx FFT the subcarriers are input/output in natural order, where subcarrier 0 is DC, 1:31 are the positive frequencies, 32:63 are the negative frequencies.

Also, do you decode the SIGNAL field in order to determine the end of the packet?

Yes. The Rx PHY attempts to decode the SIGNAL field. If this decoding is successful (parity bit check passes, rate/length are valid) the Rx PHY continues processing the reception for the number of bytes indicated in the SIGNAL.LENGTH field.
