Is Matlab 2016 OK? Which version is best if I use WARP? Thanks!!

It depends on what you're planning to do. For WARPLab you can use any version of MATLAB since 2011. If you plan to use System Generator to design custom FPGA cores or modify the cores from our reference designs you must use a version of MATLAB that is compatible with System Generator 14.4. Refer to Xilinx answer record 17966 for details.

We have been working on the Physical design using System Generator(ISE 10.1) with WARP-V1(Vertex-II Pro FPGA) using MATLAB 2007a, since we want work with only WARLAB instead of SysGen we decided to use higher version of MATLAB. What latest version of MATLAB can this WARP-V1 supports?

We use 2012b with the 10.1 tool chain. We never tested newer versions.

We have not tested WARPLab 6 on recent versions of MATLAB. The primary limitation will be compiling the pnet mex code or using a binary compiled under a previous MATLAB release (i.e. the pnet.mexw64 binary in the repository). You'll have to test this in your preferred MATLAB version.

Hi,
I want to use MATLAB 2016 with system generator 14.7. Is there any progress with recent versions of MATLAB for WARPLab 7?

The WARPLab Reference Design works fine with any recent version of MATLAB.
If you plan to use System Generator to design custom FPGA cores or modify the cores from our reference designs you must use a version of MATLAB that is compatible with System Generator 14.4. Refer to Xilinx answer record 17966 for details.

Murpho, Thank you very much. Yes, actually I want to use System Generator and I have 14.7 Design Suit. How far did you go with 14.7? Can I use 14.7 instead of 14.4?

There were no significant improvements from 14.4 to 14.7; however the 14.5+ SDK introduced (at least) one bug that broke the 802.11 ref design. Thus, we are continuing to use 14.4 for development on WARP v3. I would recommending using 14.4 if you're planning to modify our reference cores or code. Your 14.7 license will work with 14.4 - you can download the 14.4 installers from Xilinx's site.
